Use of mold release agents
Since most of the liquid internal release agents are acidic, pay attention to the following issues in use:
1, when using acid-sensitive pigments will cause color changes;
2, when using alkaline fillers, such as calcium carbonate, acidic release agent will react with it, causing the viscosity of the mixture to increase, but it will not affect the mold release effect.
3, if the filler is aluminum hydroxide, in addition to the acidic release agent will increase the viscosity of the mixture, but also in the mixture during the curing process to release moisture, resulting in bubbles, cracks and other issues.
In general, the internal release agent is used in an amount of 1% of the amount of the resin, and an effective addition range is 0.75 to 2% based on the weight of the resin. Should be adjusted according to the actual situation.
1, thin wall of simple profiles, the amount can be less appropriate, such as 0.8% or less.
2. Thicker or more complex shapes require more.
3. In the high-filler system, the addition amount of the internal mold release agent should be increased. However, excessive addition of the internal release agent will delay the curing.
4, in the pultrusion production, if the resistance is too large and can not find the reason, you need to increase the amount of mold release agent. When using, pay attention to the order of feeding. Before adding the curing agent, filler and other resin additives, add the internal mold release agent to the resin system and mix well. This can achieve the best stripping effect.
